EDU-243 Meths of Effect Reading Instr

Examine the selection and application of strategies for developing oral reading, comprehension and literacy skills. Focus on a variety of techniques for building word recognition, integrating reading and writing and enhancing understanding of text. Learn about the development of a balanced literacy program attentive to early identification of reading difficulties and meeting diverse reader needs. EDU 243 is a Maryland State Department of Education approved reading course. Prerequisite: A Bachelor's degree and seeking teacher certification or permission of department chair.
