Section Info: Online | Road to Resiliency (Mat and Chair Yoga) | Our trauma-informed yoga class helps ease pain caused by emotional, mental, or physical trauma, which the body remembers even if we dont. New research shows how trauma impacts us and what we can do with that experience. Benefits include strengthening the vagus nerve, creating new neural pathways, improving self-awareness, self-care, and self-love. The class also helps manage stress and pain. Students are encouraged to bring a notebook and pen for journaling activities. Section Info: Arnold Senior Center | Total Fitness | Improve overall physical health, stamina, flexibility, and balance while gaining the benefit of stronger muscles. As we age, we naturally lose muscle mass and bone density leaving the joints more vulnerable and susceptive to injury. Stronger muscles around the joint help to protect and preserve joints. The class format will consist of but not be limited to light cardiovascular movement, light weight training. including some weight bearing movements and abdominal exercises.
