Section Info: Online | Drawing | Improve your drawing skills by learning basic visual tools like the rules of thumb, relational measurement, and simplified measuring systems. The course includes exercises to enhance your drawing abilities. Students can choose to draw posted images or their own selections, primarily using pencils and charcoal, with optional watercolor pastels. You'll learn to create thumbnail sketches and how to evaluate and work from photographs | Note: Attendance in online class sessions Thursdays from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. is mandatory for section 217.

Focus will be on a more in-depth exploration of strokes like flat stroke, U-strokes, Daisy strokes, bud strokes, tear drop stroke, easy petal strokes, shell strokes/wiggle strokes, leaf strokes and learn more about the supplies needed. Discuss opportunities for marketing and sale of completed projects. Supplies needed for class will be discussed at the first session. It is recommended that students wait to purchase supplies. America Film- Love, Death, Afterlife | No class on May 25 | This course is specially designed for connoisseurs of film, we will watch and discuss movies from the 1930s onward that explore the themes of love, death, and the afterlife. You will see Topper, The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, Meet Joe Black, and many other classic movies that draw upon ancient themes like the myth of Orpheus and Euridice. This ten-week course is taught by Richard Striner, the first historian to write about this subject.
