Each character expresses a moment through balance, proportion, and rhythm. Strokes follow a specific order, with even spacing and consistent sizing. The simplicity and meditative quality stem from Zen Buddhism and Taoism. Section Info: South County | Multimedia Drawing Studio Practice | Develop your artistic skills, personal style and understanding of color theory, composition, creation of depth, texture and historical styles of art covered in the introductory Colored Pencil Drawing course. Students are encouraged to continue exploring wax, oil, watercolor, pastel and other types of colored pencil combined with various drawing and painting media such as pen and ink, markers, watercolor, acrylics and other mixed media techniques for enhanced and varied effects. Intermediate to advanced students are welcome.

Section Info: Arnold Senior Center | One Stroke Painting | Explore one-stroke painting. This class is perfect for beginners and experienced students. Learn basic strokes like flat stroke, U-stroke, daisy stroke, bud stroke, tear drop stroke, easy petal strokes, shell strokes/wiggle strokes, leaf strokes as well as learning about the supplies needed. Discuss opportunities for marketing and sale of completed projects. Supplies needed for class will be discussed at the first session. It is recommended that students wait to purchase supplies.
