Examine the appropriate intervention skills to respond to emergencies such as recognition, access, assessment and management until more advanced personnel arrives. Identify and successfully demonstrate the components of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automatic defibrillator device (AED) and advanced first aid by a first responder. Successful completion of the course prepares students to take the Red Cross certification exam. Lab fee $29. Note: Credit is not given for both EMT 104 and HEA 150.

Section Info: Attendance in online class sessions Fridays from 7a-7:50a are mandatory for this section. Face-to-face on-campus testing will be held in alignment with Maryland Emergency Orders and Guidelines and Stages to Recovery. Faculty members will notify students of the required schedule for the on-campus testing by the first day of the semester. The skills testing will be scheduled on campus in accordance with the sync day/time of the course section.
