Introduction to spoken Mandarin Chinese and to the written Chinese language. Emphasis will be on spoken Chinese pronunciation and tones, mastery of PINYIN Romanization, elementary sentence structure and everyday vocabulary. Approximately 150 Chinese characters are covered. Note: Not for native speakers.
