SPA-211 Intermediate Spanish 1

Strengthen listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in Spanish at the intermediate level. Describe past events, give commands, make requests and recommendations, and express doubt and opinions. Analyze key ideas in short informational and fictional texts. Compare cultural products, practices, and perspectives of Spanish-speaking communities. Prerequisite: SPA 112 or SPA 119 or SPA 141 or two years of high school Spanish or permission of department chair. Note: Also offered as SPA 211H; credit not given for both SPA 211 and SPA 211H. Not for native speakers.
