SOC-111 Introduction to Sociology

Apply sociological principles and perspectives to interpret and explain everyday social life. Analyze meanings and functions of various roles individuals perform in historical and contemporary societies. Examine and discuss the lived experiences, knowledge, and histories of historically marginalized groups. Evaluate causes, consequences and comparisons of social hierarchies. Note: Also offered as SOC 111H; credit is not given for both SOC 111 and SOC 111H.
