RAD-111 RAD:Position & Patient Care

Review basic medical terminology, medical and legal ethics, history of radiography, infection control, radiation protection and the healthcare system. Identify fundamental skills for radiographic procedures of the chest, abdomen, and extremities to include shoulder and pelvis. Demonstrate appropriate patient care, proper equipment use, application of radiation safety, body mechanics, universal precautions, vital signs assessment, medical emergencies and management of the patient with special needs during supervised lab sessions. Lab fee $250. Prerequisite: Acceptance to the Radiologic Technology Program. Corequisite: RAD 110 and RAD 112. Note: You must register for both RAD 111 and RAD 111LB.
