Explore the historical roots, methodological tools, sociological frameworks, strategies, and practices of community organizing as a catalyst for creating social change. Apply strategies that ordinary people use to resist the erosion of their rights and power in an era marked by deep political polarization, the weakening of our social institutions, and widespread concerns over democratic backsliding in the United States. Prerequisite: SOC 111 or SOC 111H.
