Study the Bible from a literary perspective, with attention to historical and cultural contexts. Explore how the Bible uses literary devices to convey its themes. Analyze how biblical content and structures have influenced subsequent European and American literature. Prerequisite: ENG 101/ENG 101A or permission of department. Note: Also offered as ENG 220H; credit is not given for both ENG 220 and ENG 220H.
