My Sincere Gratitude to Anne Arundel Community College

As he prepares to graduate in 2026, Yuan Miguel Vicera reflects on his time at Anne Arundel Community College and the people who shaped his experience. In the message below, he shares his appreciation for the faculty, staff and peers who supported his journey and helped define his time as a Riverhawk.

To the faculty, staff and the entire AACC community,

As I look back on the journey that began when I first walked onto the Anne Arundel Community College campus in 2021, I am filled with an overwhelming sense of gratitude. Today, in 2026, as I stand on the cusp of graduation, I realize that my time here has been about so much more than just earning a degree, it has been about discovering who I am and who I want to become. These past five years have been a period of immense growth, resilience and transformation. I want to express my deepest thanks to:

• The Incredible Faculty: Thank you for pushing me out of my comfort zone, challenging
  my perspectives and investing your time in my success. Your passion for teaching turned
  classrooms into spaces of inspiration.
• The Support Staff and Advisors: From navigating class schedules to offering guidance
  when things got tough, your unwavering support ensured I never had to walk this path
  alone.
• My Peers and Friends: Thank you for the late-night study sessions, the shared laughs
  and the collaborative spirit that made AACC feel like a true community.

When I started in 2021, I could not have predicted the challenges we would face or the milestones we would achieve. AACC provided me with the resources, the flexible environment and the foundation necessary to balance my life while pursuing my education. Because of the education I received here, I am stepping into the next chapter of my life with confidence, competence and a lifelong love for learning.

Thank you, AACC, for being the launchpad for my dreams. I will always be proud to call myself a Riverhawk alumnus.
