AACC dancers huddle around a single dancer on stage.

Becoming part of the AACC Dance Company is like becoming part of a new dance family. Not only will you have amazing opportunities to perform, but you can travel and serve your community as well.

Members of this dance troupe are selected through auditions. Dance company members are given the opportunity to choreograph their own work as well as dance the work of guest choreographers and the director.

The company participates in service-learning projects throughout the year, including miniperformances, lecture/demonstrations and "guest spots" in and around the county at elementary, middle, high school and college venues. There are public performances at the end of the fall and spring terms, generally the first weekend in December and the first weekend in May. Dates are subject to change.

As members of both the Maryland Council for Dance and the American College Dance Association, dance company members are able to attend dance conferences. Typically, the full company travels to the American College Dance Association conference in the spring, providing dancers with a memorable educational experience.

Auditions are scheduled for the second week of classes during the fall and spring terms. There is no need to prepare a solo for the audition; just come prepared to dance. Company membership is open to all students at AACC so you do not have to be registered for a dance class. Rehearsal typically begins at 3 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday in the Cade Center for Fine Arts Room 103.
