There’s a quote from the Indian philosopher Jiddu Krishnamurti that is important to Brittany Lamma:
“There is no end to education. It is not that you read a book, pass an examination and finish with education. The whole of life, from the moment you are born to the moment you die, is a process of learning.”
Lamma brings the mentality of lifelong learning to her classroom and her life. She describes herself as a "passionate educator with a student-centered approach." Her students think she's a relatable, caring and fun guide in their learning journey.
"I've been told that I make somewhat boring material very exciting with my innovative lectures," she said.
And what about her students inspires Lamma? It's their diverse backgrounds and incredible determination. Every day, they show up ready to learn and succeed, and that's what keeps Lamma buzzing with motivation.
When she's not teaching, Lamma is a student herself, pursuing a Doctor of Science degree from the University of Baltimore. And she's not just a teacher and a student. The self-described tech enthusiast is also a documentary filmmaker. She’s already produced one film and has two in development.
