Graduation Information and Application

IMPORTANT: You MUST complete a graduation application if you wish to receive your certificate/associate degree, regardless if you will attend the spring commencement ceremony. 


When to apply: 
   

For Spring graduation: Jan. 1-Mar. 1

Deadline: Mar.1

For Summer graduation: June 1-July 1

Deadline: July 1

For Fall graduation: Aug.1-Nov.1

Deadline: Nov. 1



One graduation fee must be paid for each degree/certificate. Graduation applications are good for only one term. Students who do not qualify in the term for which they apply will be required to reapply, but will not have to pay another $20 graduation fee.

 Two Ways to Apply:  

  • MyAACC--If you have a valid MyAACC account, you are strongly encouraged to apply for graduation online (MyAACC> Self Services> Graduation Application). If you apply online, you will receive an instant email receipt with important information once you submit your online application.
  • Paper--Completed paper applications MUST be submitted to the Records and Registration Office. If you apply using a paper graduation applicationPDF, you will be sent a letter via postal mail within two weeks confirming the receipt of your application, indicating when the application will be reviewed and you will be provided information regarding diploma receipt and ceremony information.

Commencement Ceremony: The college graduates students three times a year (spring, summer and fall), but has only ONE commencement ceremony a year in the spring. Information regarding the spring 2016 commencement ceremony will be mailed mid-March 2016 to summer and fall 2015 graduates and prospective spring 2016 graduates. The commencement information sent in mid-March 2016 is time sensitive, with cap/gown ordering deadlines.

Diplomas: Notation of spring 2015 graduation will be reflected on transcripts June 10, 2015. Diplomas will be mailed June 25, 2015 to all spring 2015 graduates.

Graduation Honors: Graduation honors will be awarded to associate degree recipients whose adjusted cumulative GPAs are as follows:
3.4 to 3.59--cum laude
3.6 to 3.79--magna cum laude
3.8 to 4.0--summa cum laude

Phi Theta Kappa and Chi Alpha Epsilon: Graduates who have been inducted into the Omicron Theta chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and/or the Epsilon Chi chapter of the Chi Alpha Epsilon Honor Society will have a written notation on their diplomas.
