COMMENCEMENT INFORMATION 

The commencement ceremony takes place Thursday, May 22, rain or shine, under a large tent on the Athletic Practice Field at the Arnold campus.

The following information was mailed April 9, 2014 to summer 2013 graduates, fall 2013 graduates and spring 2014 graduation candidates.

April 11-22 (orders for must be placed by student for cap and gown package online)

A limited number of cap and gown packages will be available in the AACC Bookstore for $49.95 beginning May 13 on a first-come, first-served basis for graduates who did not place an online order by April 22.
 
May 13-20 (cap and gown package orders may be picked up at the AACC Bookstore, Arnold campus)


 

IMPORTANT: You MUST complete a graduation application if you wish to receive your certificate/associate degree, regardless if you will attend the spring commencement ceremony.

When to apply: 

For Spring graduation: Jan. 1-Mar. 1

Deadline: Mar.1

For Summer graduation: June 1-July 1

Deadline: July 1

For Fall graduation: Aug.1-Nov.1

Deadline: Nov. 1

One graduation fee must be paid for each degree/certificate. Graduation applications are good for only one term. Students who do not qualify in the term for which they apply will be required to reapply, but will not have to pay another $20 graduation fee.

Two Ways to Apply: 

  • MyAACC--If you have a valid MyAACC account, you are strongly encouraged to apply for graduation online (MyAACC> Self Services> Submit Graduation Application). If you apply online, you will receive an instant email receipt with important information once you submit your online application.
  • Paper--Completed paper applications MUST be submitted to the Records and Registration Office. If you apply using a paper graduation applicationPDF, you will be sent a letter via postal mail within two weeks confirming the receipt of your application, indicating when the application will be reviewed and you will be provided information regarding diploma receipt and ceremony information.

Commencement Ceremony: The college graduates students three times a year (spring, summer and fall), but has only one commencement ceremony a year in the spring.

Diplomas: Spring 2014 diplomas will be mailed June 16 and notation of spring graduation on transcripts will occur that time as well. Fall 2013 diplomas were mailed February 1. Summer 2013 diplomas were mailed September 15.

Graduation Honors: Graduation honors will be accorded to associate degree recipients whose adjusted cumulative GPAs are as follows:
3.4 to 3.59--cum laude
3.6 to 3.79--magna cum laude
3.8 to 4.0--summa cum laude

Phi Theta Kappa: Graduates who have been inducted into the Omicron Theta chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society will have a written notation of Phi Theta Kappa on the diploma .
