Come learn fun tap dance routines while learning a variety of skills which include basic tap steps, and review of the fundamentals of this fun style of dance. Tap dancing will help increase muscular strength, motor skills, cardiovascular conditioning and will sharpen your memory. Fun tap combinations are learned during the session.

Wear leather-soled shoes, dance sneakers, or dance boots. Bring your smile and dancing feet, enjoy great music, and "boot scoot" your way to better health together.

Section Info: Pasadena Senior Center | Line Dance Beginner | No class May 25 | This low-impact line dance class is geared toward beginners with instruction through the steps and how to perform circle dances and other similar dances. The history of some dances is occasionally explained. This class addresses the needs of beginners with attention to the best and easiest way to accomplish the dance. Dances can be adapted for students who have physicals limitations.

HTH-904 SSAC-Introduction Jazz Dance

Section Info: Severn Senior Center | Introduction Jazz Dance | No class May 25 | Join us for jazz dancing, movement to fun music while learning creative moves, stretching, and flexibility. This is a fun filled class where you will explore the movement of the body to great music, creative movement, and jazz terminology. The dances are based on Broadway Jazz. Stretches to gain flexibility and isolations are a part of the one-hour class. It also incorporates basic ballet which adds to a great activity for balance, coordination, and putting cool moves together.

Section Info: Arnold Senior Center | Favorite Poems | No class May 25 | Share, read, and discuss favorite poems, building on the Favorite Poem Project created by Poet Laureate Robert Pinsky. Poetry has a double nature: both inward, close to ones heart and memory, and outward, reflecting communal aspects of culture and public concerns. Because of poetrys dual nature, this course will incorporate participants favorite poems as well as the work of poets from other countries around the world. We will map our personal and community search for meaning and connection.
