In subjects for which College-Level Examinations (CLEP) are not available, department chairs may arrange to give challenge examinations to qualified applicants.
Challenge Exams are graded on a pass-fail basis and do not affect the student’s GPA at AACC. Passing grades will be listed on the student’s academic record as Transfer Credit. If you do not pass the exam, you cannot retake it, but you can enroll in the actual course.
Process for Taking the Challenge Exam
- Complete an Application for Admission.
- Obtain a Request for a Challenge Exam form from the appropriate department chair.
- Complete the form and have it signed by the department chair.
- Take the completed and approved form to the cashier’s office and pay the exam fees.
- Return the form to the department chair and arrange a time to take the exam.
