Students will learn painting techniques using various glazing techniques to acquire a glass-like finish or staining with acrylics paints and using additional methods by enhancing with antiquing and dry brushing. Glaze firing is provided at the center. Please come to the first session to see examples of painted elements and discuss supplies. Acrylic paints and brushes are required for this class. All nature elements will be provided by the instructor.

The instructor provides lectures and individualized guidance. Previous painting experience is recommended. Students will learn to evaluate and improve their own work, painting their own subjects or images selected by the instructor. Section Info: Online | Pastels | This course is for students of all levels, from beginner to advanced. Beginners will learn materials and pastel application methods through demonstrations, while advanced students will explore art principles and new techniques. Students will discover pastels as an exciting alternative to traditional painting methods. Individual attention is provided, and topics like framing, exhibiting, and shipping pastels will be covered. Students will paint their own subjects or images chosen by the instructor, with an emphasis on individuality, taking risks, and working from photographs. | Note: Attendance in online class sessions Tuesdays from 1-3:30 p.m. is mandatory for section 204.

HTH-935 ASRC-Pilates

Section Info: Arnold Senior Center | Pilates | No class May 8 | Looking to strengthen your entire core? This classical Mat Pilates class targets your abdominal, back, and hip muscles while improving joint mobility and stability. You'll also enhance posture and flexibility. Jeanine may incorporate 1lb hand weights for chest and upper back exercises. Pilates are suitable for most students, though you should be able to get down to the floor and back up, as well as roll over for mat work. This is an intermediate-level class, but beginners with some exercise experience are welcome.

HTH-943 PSRC-Zumba

Section Info: Pascal Senior Center | Zumba | No class May 25 | Uses easy to follow cardio dance steps and patterns set to fun and energizing Latin and world music. Light weights are used for strength and conditioning in a portion. This class is great cardio for all fitness levels; it also helps with balance and endurance. Can be done seated as well.
