Many colleges grant credit to students who meet the minimum qualifying score. The tests are useful for students who have obtained knowledge outside the classroom, such as through independent study, job experience or cultural interaction. CLEP offers students the opportunity to demonstrate their proficiency in subject areas and bypass undergraduate coursework.
Consult the AACC College Catalog to see how your CLEP scores equate. Contact your AACC advisor prior to registering for a CLEP exam. It is the student’s responsibility to verify that a CLEP exam is accepted at any college or university to which the student is planning to transfer the CLEP scores.
