Real-time Online Tutoring

Get the writing and research help you need without coming to campus! Talk real time with the same English faculty and research librarians available in our face-to-face locations, using Canvas and Blackboard Collaborate. The Virtual Writing Center is available to all enrolled AACC students with appointments offered 7 days a week at times ranging from 7 a.m.-10 p.m.

Available Services

  • Writing assistance in any course: AACC English faculty members will help with thesis, organization, style or grammar.
  • Research assignments: Truxal reference librarians will help with finding, evaluating and citing sources (MLA or APA form).

Requirements To Participate

  • Computer.
  • Internet connection.
  • Speakers and microphone or cell phone.
  • Electronic version of assignment sheet.
  • Electronic version of essay draft.

Appointment Scheduling

To schedule an appointment for an online tutoring session, you will need to enroll in the Virtual Writing Center. From any Canvas course, click on Enroll in Virtual Writing Center on the main navigation bar. Virtual Writing Center will appear on your course list. Follow the prompts to complete the Orientation Module and Readiness Survery and schedule an appointment.
